In 1995, Robin, Shirley, and the girls came to visit us in California.  Although ideally known for its sunny shores, we were freezing in the coastal fog one typical afternoon on the San Francisco bay, as we sat having a meal outdoors on the water at Sam's Anchor Cafe.  I accidentally spilled my entire soda and it all dribbled into my lap.  Robin thoughtfully and immediately took off his own jacket and insisted that I use it as a blanket - both to keep me warm and save me the embarrassment (especially as a teenager) for having wet pants!
