Dedicated to the memory of Robin Skinner

Robin George Skinner passed away on June 28th, 2021 at the age of 69, in The Margaret Centre, the palliative care unit at Whipps Cross Hospital. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his fortitude and spirit in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Robin maintained his wit and gentle, polite nature until the very end.

He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and great sense of humour. His love of motorbikes and unusual vehicles was a huge passion in his life and something which gave him great joy. Robin was also great at fixing anything mechanical and would try his hand wherever he could, even as a teenager commandeering the kitchen table to build a bicycle from parts.

Robin was an inspiration to many in his social life, such as in his work with The Samaritans, with friends - and as a colleague in a number of educational settings, latterly at City University where he was Head of Information Services for the Schools of Arts and Social Sciences. His diligent yet personable nature gained him the Vice-Chancellor’s Award in 2011 of which he was very proud.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbour and colleague.
We will miss you so much Robin, but you will never leave our hearts. Your spirit will always be remembered.
