In 1998, I took a day trip to London to visit the Skinners - during a college trip to Paris.  Robin was an amazing host and tour guide - coordinating an entire day of sight-seeing for us, purchasing bus passes, tube passes, arranging lunch reservations...  he was a wealth of interesting information - sharing everything relevant, from history to pop culture.  He was crazy for his new "Orange" mobile phone too, showing me all the bells and whistles - just on the cusp of the big cell phone boom.  During the drive to pick Caroline up from school, we listened to music on the car radio and he told me all about a recent controversy which had brewed about Natalie Imbruglia's hit song "Torn" and how it was not an original but had been passed off as one.  I loved his natural gift for easy conversation and telling great stories!
